As the Asset Management & Specialist Property Management arm of the Group, the company is currently supported by the following in-house operational divisions:

The above divisions incorporate a staff component of more than 40 employees. This team of property professionals has a widely diverse field of industry experience, comprising: rental administrators, rental agents, client liaison operators, quality controllers/inspectors, maintenance technicians, rental accountants, legal recoveries, etc. responsible for the in-house management and providing the full scope of property services, from securing and placing tenants, portfolio management and administration, through to the maintenance of the units. The company is registered with the Estate Agents Affairs Board.

With its co-funding partners, the Old Mutual Group, Uvest currently controls the most dominant privately owned residential portfolio in the Western Cape. The current rental fund stock is currently predominantly concentrated in suburban locations around Cape Town.

As a specialist property management company, the group manages in excess of 1 500 properties. In addition to the already substantial portfolio, the newly established 2nd Residential Fund will see in excess of 1 000 additional rental properties added over the next 12-24 months.

The Group’s current rental fund stock is predominantly housed in affordable residential (secured) estates, ranging from complex sizes of 50-400 units. Within these estates the rental units are interspersed with owner-occupied units, which have been sold to end-user occupiers.

Given the large critical mass of self-owned stock in the current estates, the company has established rental administration/estate management offices within these estates. Through the respective body corporates, the company facilitates the appointment of an Estate Manager, who co-occupies the on-site administration offices in conjunction with the rental agents. This provides a permanent operational management presence in the larger estates.

From a compliance perspective, the company also has a dedicated Compliance Officer, who ensures that the company is registered with the relevant regulatory bodies. The Compliance Officer ensures compliance with industry regulations as prescribed by governing authorities such as the Estate Agents Affairs Board (EAAB), Council of Debt Collectors, FICA, etc.
