Muizenberg Property
Muizenberg has one of South Africa-'s - and even the world's - top beaches. This is by far the longest shore break of any beach on the Cape Peninsula, making it a safe haven for surfers, paddlers and swimmers year round. The white sandy beach, the beginning of a 40km stretch of beach along False Bay, is so level here that bathers can wade far out into the bay, through the warm Indian Ocean water. Safety is prioritised - shark spotters are constantly on watch with binoculars above the beach, to give advance warning of a rare, straying Great White Shark.
Muizenberg is child-friendly and draws families from around South Africa. This laid-back seaside town on the shores of False Bay comes alive in season, but maintains that tranquil holiday feeling year-round. Cape Town Tourism's Muizenberg Visitor Information Centre is conveniently located at the landmark Pavilion on the main beach, to assist you with queries. You can't miss the Pavilion, which for many decades has been a feature on this long beachfront.
Around the mountain the village-feel attractions of Kalk Bay, Simon's Town, Fish Hoek and Noordhoek are just a short meander away while, getting on to the M3 the other way out of Muizenberg, you'll first pass the turn off to Tokai, whose forest is famous for its braaing horse riding, mountain biking and the friendly Saturday morning food market. Beyond that, Ladies Mile takes you into the heart of Constantia, with Kirstenbosch, Newlands or Hout Bay beyond.
Cape Town itself is a scenic 20 minutes up the M3. It's an easy commute if you work in the city and a lot of people choose to commute to town, yet live by the sea and surf on weekends.
